Foods Markets buyout has opened his own shop at South Main Market. Scott
Staebler bought the Butcher Block from Ron Tennyson in February; on
March 1, he reopened under the name Prime Cuts.

Great Lake’s owners get into retail

hen the Tam and Yue families opened Great Lake Chinese Seafood
Restaurant on Carpenter Road seven years ago, they wanted to introduce
Ann Arbor to what they considered authentic Chinese cuisine–not the
Americanized deep-fried meats and sticky sweet-and-sour sauces that,
they lament, are typical of local takeout. Now they’re opening an Asian
supermarket for much the same reason. "We want to tell more about our
food and culture to Western people," says Kwok Tam, "and we want to
teach them how to cook at home."
