here just wasn't enough food in this book for me. Like Julia,
Child, Irma Rombauer did not become interested in food until rather
late in her life, after the death of her husband. More accurately,
I should say she became interested in writing her cookbook.

If you look this book up at the library, you will find one brief subject
heading attached: Cookery, Jewish. This may give you the idea that it is
a cookbook. By my count there are 25 recipes in this 361 page book. So
what's in the rest of the pages?

Vogue Model
 
n general, I don't bother to write about books which I don't
enjoy. This is partially because I was raised in the "if you can't say
something nice, don't say anything at all" school. Perhaps to an
even larger degree, it's because I simply don't finish books which I don't
enjoy. Life is far too short to fight my way through boring, or
ill-written, or just plain stupid books. So don't expect you'll ever read
this column and hear me ranting over some pathetic book--I have better
things to do with my time.
